Your smile will book you, or cost you jobs. Your smile will attract parents and put children at ease or it will do the opposite. As Santa, your SMILE is, or at least can be, your greatest asset… or not!
In one of my classes I mentioned how I practiced smiling every day for weeks… my face was sore!
In addition to practicing to have a big full smile, we need to remember to be quick to smile and you hold at least a slight smile even when we are at rest, or think no one is looking.
By the way, an additional benefit to being so quick to smile is you will be happier… I used to think that we smiled when we’re happy… I now know that the reverse is also true… we are happy when we smile.
So here are 3 more quick tips…
- Somehow, either trim or train the mustache hair away and up from your mouth… seeing your upper lip is a good thing.
- Smile with your whole face… your cheeks & eyes should smile with your lips.
- Santa Tim Connaghan teaches the “yeah” technique. By saying the word “yeah”, and having the others in the photo say it at the same time the photographer can get some great photos.
Of course, there are many more things we can do to consistently have a million dollar smile but these will get you started.
